“Gift of Life” Organ Donation Awareness Session at NSS Camp, Dayanand Saraswati Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Jaripatka Nagpur |

On January 22, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur, conducted a “Gift of Life” organ donation awareness session at the NSS Camp of Dayanand Saraswati Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur, with the objective of sensitizing students about organ donation and transplantation. On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Veena Wathore, Ms. Neha Sailwar, and Mr. Dhiraj Kurve participated in the session. The session was facilitated by Ms. Veena Wathore, who introduced MOHAN Foundation and shared information about the organization’s work and initiatives. She explained the concept of organ donation and provided detailed information on what brain death is, the difference between circulatory death and brain stem death (BSD), the current scenario of organ donation in India, the demand for organs, and how patients can register on the waiting list. She also clarified whether organ donation is legal or not and addressed common myths and facts related to organ donation. Students’ queries were resolved during the session, and real-life stories of Shreya and Anamta were shared to help students better understand the life-saving impact of organ donation. Following this, Mr. Ramesh Bhisikar, Ambassador of MOHAN Foundation, took the lead and shared his insights on organ donation and the importance of donating organs. He motivated and inspired the students by emphasizing the humanitarian value of organ donation and the role young individuals can play in spreading awareness. An interactive discussion was held, during which students actively participated and asked questions related to organ donation and transplantation. All queries were addressed by the MOHAN Foundation team. Around 47 students attended the awareness programme and actively engaged throughout the session. The session concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from the students, reflecting increased awareness and interest in organ donation.
