Organ Donation Awareness at a Mega Medical Check-up Camp at a school |

The Alumni Association of Vivekananda group of schools organised their Annual Mega Medical Camp at the Sri KC Toshniwal Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Periya Mathur, Chennai. The camp was conducted on Sun Jan 25, 2026 from 9 AM to 1 PM. MOHAN Foundation was invited to set an information desk for the community. Dr Hemal Kanvinde set up an information desk with green ribbons, information brochures. The event began with a prayer and a welcome by Principal Dr Krishna Kumari S. This was followed by an inaugural speech by Dr T Senthaml Pari, Founder and Chairman KVT Multi Specialty Hospital. He spoke of the need for affordable healthcare and emphasized the efficacy of early detection of any diseases in the body. He lauded the school for taking public health check-ups as part of their activity. This was followed by an Introduction to the activities of the school and about the event by Correspondent Sri S. Ramachandran. Mr Ramachandran thanked all the participating NGOs, hospitals and alumni groups that created the mass medical camp. The camp began with registrations from the public, students and a few staff, taking advantage of the facility. More than 600 people attended the camp. It was heartening to see students of the school bring their parents and grandparents for the medical check-up. All those who registered for the camp were given an information brochure and a green ribbon. Many queries regarding diabetes and organ donation, who will do the donation, what is the use of a donor card and what is the role of MOHAN Foundation were answered. One person registered as an organ donor. MOHAN Foundation thanks the school and the alumni association for their invite and hospitality. |
