Awareness Program on Organ Donation by MOHAN Foundation at Laxmipur Sub-Health Centre, Mandwi, West Tripura |

On January 22, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on organ donation at Laxmipur, Mandwi, West Tripura. The session was conducted at the Sub-Health Centre as part of the Foundation’s continuous efforts to promote awareness about organ donation and transplantation among the community.
Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, Tripura, represented MOHAN Foundation during the program.
He spoke about the significance of organ donation, the different types of organ and tissue donations, and the lifesaving impact one donor can have by helping multiple patients. The session also focused on addressing common myths and misconceptions related to organ donation and encouraged participants to support and spread awareness about this noble cause.
Mr. Debbarma shared information about living donor transplants currently taking place at Agartala Government Medical College and Govind Ballabh Pant (AGMC & GBP) Hospital. He also informed the participants that the deceased donor organ donation and transplantation process will be initiated soon, which will help save many more lives. He requested the attendees to carry this message forward and create awareness among those who are still unfamiliar with organ donation.
Informational leaflets on organ donation were distributed to help participants better understand the concept. The program was attended by approximately 10 participants.
