MOHAN Foundation Participates in the 9th Trilogy of Blood, Eye and Organ Donation Camp |

On January 1, 2026, MOHAN Foundation participated in the 9th Trilogy of Blood, Eye and Organ Donation Camp (New Year Voluntary Blood Donation – 7th Edition), held at the Outpatient Department (OPD) waiting area of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Lamphel. The Foundation was represented by Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Programme Executive, and Ms. Moirangthem Priya Devi, Programme Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Imphal.
The event was jointly organised by the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors (AVBD) and its associates, in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, on the theme “Let’s Donate Blood on New Year’s Day; Let’s Stay Away from Alcohol and Drugs.” The programme aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and create awareness about organ donation.
The programme was graced by Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Nepram Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, presided over the function as the President. Dr. Pratima Khoyumthem, Head of the Department (In-charge), Department of Transfusion Medicine; Prof. L. Rajesh Singh, Dean (Academics), RIMS; and Dr. Rajivkumar Narengbam, Principal, Institution of Rural Education (IRE) Group of Institutions and President, Democratic People’s Front (DPF), Manipur, attended the programme as Guests of Honour.
As part of the programme, an information stall and organ donation pledge counter were set up and coordinated by Mr. Sarangthem Kumarjit Singh, Treasurer, AVBD. The MOHAN Foundation team highlighted the significance of deceased organ donation, explained the types of organs and tissues that can be donated, addressed common myths and misconceptions, and emphasised the crucial role of family consent in the donation process to participants visiting the stall.
A voluntary blood donation drive and an organ donation pledge-taking ceremony were conducted, witnessing enthusiastic participation from donors and attendees alike. Dedicated voluntary blood donors were felicitated in recognition of their selfless service and consistent contributions toward saving lives.
Information pamphlets on organ donation were distributed to the attendees. Nearly 200 participants attended the programme, and eight individuals pledged to donate their organs.
