On December 10, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation, in association with the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Porompat, conducted an awareness session on organ donation at the General OPD of JNIMS. The session was led by Mr Victor Rajkumar, Program Executive, and supported by Ms Moirangthem Priya, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation. The programme was coordinated by Mr Gailian Kamei, Transplant Coordinator, JNIMS.

Mr Victor began the session by interacting with the participants to assess their existing awareness of organ donation. He explained the concept of organ donation in simple and easily understandable terms and elaborated on the two types of organ donation, living and deceased. He highlighted the increasing number of patients on the organ transplant waiting list and emphasised the significant gap between the demand for organs and their availability.

During the session, Mr Victor also spoke about the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA), clearly stating that the buying and selling of organs is a punishable offence under the law. He further emphasised the life-saving impact of deceased organ donation for patients awaiting transplants.

Informational leaflets on organ donation were distributed among the participants. Approximately 20 individuals attended the session and gained a clearer understanding of organ donation and its importance.
