Organ Donation Drive at Ramaswamy Function Hall, Uppal

On December 6, 2025 - A highly successful community outreach initiative combined organ donation awareness with humanitarian service at the Ramaswamy Function Hall in Uppal. The event was organized by the Dhathruta Foundation, which held cultural activities, distributed blankets, and served food to the needy.

The MOHAN Foundation was a key partner in the event. Project Manager Mr. Venkatesh Kattela led the outreach effort, setting up an informative Organ Donation Stall to educate attendees. The event saw strong attendance, with around 300 people participating in the day's activities.

The formal awareness session was conducted by Dr. Bhanu Prakash from the MOHAN Foundation. The session effectively created awareness about the importance of organ donation and transplantation and was attended by close to 300 participants. A key focus was providing clear answers to the attendees' queries regarding the organ donation process. The engagement centered on covering critical aspects of organ donation:

  • The definition and various types of organ donation.
  • The essential distinction between brain death and cardiac arrest.
  • The significance of carrying a donor card.
  • The procedural aspects of the consent process.
  • Common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation.
  • The pressing societal need for organ donation.

The response from the community was extremely positive, with around 300 people interacting with the team, collecting brochures and donor cards, and pledging their organs.

The organizer, Mr. Bramham, expressed sincere appreciation for the activities of the MOHAN Foundation, highlighting the vital role of combining medical awareness with broader social welfare initiatives.
