On 25^th October, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an impactful awareness talk on organ donation for the students and staff of Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital, Bengaluru. The session was coordinated by Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS in collaboration with Dr. Swetha Tyagi the Professor.

The event was presided by the Dr. Sajitha K, the Principal, along with Dr. Seema, PG Coordinator, Dr. Naveen V, Institutional QCI Officer and Dr. Sweta Tyagi, the professor.

MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS (Project Manager) and Mr. Nagendra Kumar R (Transplant Coordinator).

Mrs. Ranjini opened the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation and sharing its mission and vision. She went on to deliver a comprehensive talk covering a wide range of topics, including:

• The concept of organ and tissue donation
• Types of death: circulatory death and brain death
• Brain death declaration, including the Apnoea test and other clinical assessments
• Procedures involved in deceased and live organ donation
• Specific processes for eye, skin, and bone donation
• Barriers to organ donation
• Myths and facts surrounding organ donation
• The concept and significance of the Green Corridor in organ transport
• The role of Jeevasarthakathe in organ allocation and coordination in Karnataka
• An overview of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA)
• The importance of carrying a donor card and steps to pledge for organ donation

The session was well-received by all participants. A total of 250 individuals attended the program, all of them pledged to become organ donors by signing up at the end of the session.
