Organ Donation Awareness Brochures Distributed at Dikshabhumi, Nagpur

On October 2, 2025, on the occasion of Dhammachakra Pravartan Din and Dussehra,
MOHAN Foundation distributed informational brochures titled “Gift of Life” to visitors at
Dikshabhumi, Nagpur, to promote awareness about organ and tissue donation.
Dikshabhumi holds immense historical and spiritual significance as the sacred site where
Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, along with his followers, embraced Buddhism on October
14, 1956 — an event that coincided with Dussehra (Vijayadashami). Today, Dhammachakra
Pravartan Din is celebrated alongside the Dussehra festival, also known as Ashoka
Vijayadashami, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the awakening of
enlightenment.
To mark this day, numerous activities take place at Dikshabhumi, including book stalls
featuring literature on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Buddhism, exhibitions of Buddhist artifacts,
and free medical services for visitors from various states across India.
This year, nearly 10–12 lakh devotees visited Dikshabhumi. MOHAN Foundation distributed
around 1,000 “Gift of Life” brochures among the visitors. The awareness activity was led by
Ms. Veena Wathore, Project Manager, MOHAN Foundation, who personally distributed the
brochures at various stalls.
