On October 17, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at Happy Home Montessori School, Khadri Khadakmaf, Rishikesh. The session was organized at the invitation of Ms. Pratibha Chauhan, Managing Director of the School.

Mr. Sanchit Arora, Project Leader – MOHAN Foundation, posted at AIIMS Rishikesh, served as the resource person for the session. He was accompanied by Mr. Arun Sharma, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation Uttarakhand. The session was attended by the school’s students and staff.

The session began with Mr. Sanchit inviting participants to share their understanding of organ donation, followed by an engaging and informative discussion on the current scenario of organ donation in India. He covered the following key topics:

• Eligibility and types of organ donors

• Live and deceased organ donation

• Organ donation during life and after death

• Concept of brain death and its distinction from coma

• Eye and skin donation, and the process of cornea preservation after death

• Overview of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994

• Living kidney transplantation facility at AIIMS Rishikesh

• Common myths and facts related to organ donation

• Role of individuals in promoting the cause

• Goals and objectives of MOHAN Foundation and its Anudaan initiative

In conclusion, Mr. Sanchit emphasized the urgent need to promote organ donation and encouraged participants to discuss the subject with their families and consider pledging to become donors.
