On October 16, 2025, an online awareness session on organ donation was organized for the employees of CGI India, a key part of CGI’s global delivery model offering IT and business consulting services.

The session began with Ms. Rajeshwari J, Executive, introducing the speakers. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer, shared insights about MOHAN Foundation, its milestones, and engaged the audience with thought-provoking questions about organ donation. She also spoke about cornea donation, shared important statistics, and highlighted the precautions to be followed for donation.

Mr. Ganesh C, Senior Project Executive, elaborated on the types of organ donation, the concept of brain death, registration procedures, myths and facts surrounding donation, and government initiatives supporting the cause.

76 CGI Staff from Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai offices participated actively online, posing several insightful questions, including:

1.  If I pledge here and die elsewhere, where will my organs be donated?

2.  Why does the family get to decide about donation even after I’ve pledged?

3.  What is the time frame for organ donation if death occurs at home?

4.  How is death certified?

Dr. Hemal patiently addressed each question, clarifying the donation process in detail. The session concluded with a short video on eye donation and the screening of the short film “Donor.”
