MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School Sector-8 Chandigarh Session -3

On 9th October 2025, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Principal Mrs. Sunita Singh, Govt. Model Senior Secondary School Sector-8, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on Organ Donation for their Senior Students. Approximately 70 students from class 11 and 12th   & 1 teachers attended the session

Ms. Neha Sharma began the session by asking participants what they knew about Organ donation. She then explained the current status of organ donation in India, covering the following topics in detail:

 She explained the following points: -

  • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
  • The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
  • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
  • Difference between natural death and brain death
  • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
  • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
  • Importance of the Donor card
  • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation
  • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

 Ms. Neha also explained the process of eye donation. She informed the participants that eye donation is a simple procedure that can be even done at home. She motivated the students to begin with promoting eye donation in their respective areas. Students were very enthusiastic and asked many queries related to the transplantation process.

The entire group was motivated that they will support organ donation movement in a big way. Students also asked various questions on organ donation after the presentation. Everyone took keen interest with appreciation for the cause.
