On October 3, 2025, MOHAN Foundation was invited as a resource partner for an awareness session at Babina Multi Specialty Hospital, organized in collaboration with Babina Institute of Nursing, Khabeisoi, under the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” program.

Representing MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Program Coordinator (Northeast) & Project Lead (Manipur), along with Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, participated in the session.

The program was coordinated by Ms. Nomita Keisham, Transplant Coordinator, with support from the hospital staff. Dr. Laishram Shyamkumar, Medical Superintendent; Mr. Pramod Singh, PRO; the Nursing Superintendent; and faculty members graced the event with their presence.

Through a detailed and engaging presentation, Ms. Monica highlighted the life-saving potential of organ donation, elaborating on both living and deceased donation. She clarified critical concepts such as brain death versus coma, dispelled common myths using evidence-based facts, and guided students on the process of organ donor registration. She also emphasized the widening demand-supply gap in organ transplantation and encouraged participants to pledge their organs, fostering a culture of altruism and compassion.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion between Dr. Shyamkumar and Ms. Monica on the toll-free organ donation helpline and whole-body donation. Nearly 50 nursing students and staff members attended the session, leaving with a deeper understanding of organ and tissue donation and its significance in saving lives.
