MOHAN Foundation at Health Camp under “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan”

On September 25, 2025, MOHAN Foundation participated in a health camp organized by the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, at Ratankumar Memorial School, Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi, under the ongoing program “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan.” The event was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Program Coordinator (Northeast) & Project Lead (Manipur), MOHAN Foundation, along with Ms. Chongtham Pritam Devi, Medical Social Worker, RIMS.

The camp featured a range of activities, including a Digital ABHA ID registration drive, yoga sessions to promote holistic well-being, and screenings for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes, and cancer.

At MOHAN Foundation’s information stall, Ms. Monica highlighted the life-saving potential of organ donation and its impact on improving quality of life. She explained the types of organ donation—living and deceased—while clarifying critical concepts such as brain death versus coma. She also spoke about the demand–supply gap in organ transplantation, the process of pledging organs, and the eligibility criteria for donation. Special focus was placed on dispelling myths and misconceptions. Students were encouraged to embrace altruism by pledging their organs, supported with evidence-based information.

Nearly 60 participants visited the stall, where informational pamphlets on organ and tissue donation were distributed. The initiative helped strengthen awareness and foster a deeper understanding of organ donation within the community.
