Chennai, September 17, 2025 – The BioMedical Engineering students of Eswari Engineering College organized an awareness session on organ donation. MOHAN Foundation was invited to deliver the session, with Tmt. S. Madumathi, IAS., Secretary, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, as the Chief Guest.

The program began with Tamizthai Valthu followed by the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. Dr. Deiva Sundari P, Principal, Eswari Engineering College, welcomed the gathering and honored the guests. Tmt S. Madumathi addressed the gathering about the importance of organ donation and how cornea donation can impact the life of the visually impaired.

The awareness talk by MOHAN Foundation commenced with “The Donor”, a short film by director A. Vijay. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer, MOHAN Foundation, spoke about cornea donation and precautions associated with donation. Mr. Ganesh C further elaborated on organ donation, brain death, the registration process for organ recipients, myths and facts, safeguarding against scams, and the use of the toll-free organ donation helpline (1800 103 7100).

To engage the students, a short movie-based quiz on organ donation was conducted. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. G. Babu, HOD. A total of 240 students and staff participated, and 86 donor cards were distributed during the program.
