On August 5, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at The Scholars School, Colaba, Mumbai. The session was organized for students of Grades 7 to 9 and was led by Ms. Sakshi from the MOHAN Foundation. The session began with a discussion on the importance of body organs and how to keep them healthy. Ms. Sakshi emphasized that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is essential to preserve organ function. She then educated students on the functions of major organs including the heart, liver, lungs, kidneys, and pancreas, helping them understand how these organs work and contribute to overall well-being. The session then transitioned into the topic of organ donation. Ms. Sakshi explained in a simple and age-appropriate manner what organ donation means and why it is important. She spoke about how, in cases of organ failure, patients often require transplants to survive and lead healthy lives. She defined organ donation and explained how individuals can pledge to donate their organs. She also informed the students that even while applying for a driving license, individuals can choose to pledge their organs — a fact that many found surprising and inspiring.
