MSW Students’ Field Work Visit at MOHAN Foundation – Nagpur |

On August 22, 2025, a batch of ten students from the Master of Social Work (MSW) program from Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social Work visited the MOHAN Foundation – Nagpur office as part of their field work curriculum.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Veena Wathore, Project Manager, who introduced herself and conducted a sensitization session on the “Gift of Life” – Organ and Tissue Donation through a PowerPoint presentation. She explained the importance of organ and tissue donation, the current scenario in India, myths and misconceptions, and the role of social workers in creating awareness in society.
During the interaction, the students shared details of their field work requirements, which included preparing three case studies, a group work activity, and a community profile to be documented in their field work journal. To translate their learning into practice, the students decided to carry out awareness activities in the community. They planned to organize a street play (Nukkad Natak) on organ donation, aiming to convey the message in a simple and impactful manner. Additionally, they proposed to conduct poster-making and slogan-writing competitions to encourage creativity and wider participation from community members.
The visit served as a meaningful exposure for the students, offering them both theoretical insights and practical opportunities to design awareness initiatives. MOHAN Foundation extended its support and guidance to the group for successful implementation of their activities.
