On August 19, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with Mantripukhri Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), conducted an organ donation awareness session. The session was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Project Coordinator (Northeast) and Project Lead (Manipur), along with Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, and Mrs. Thaudem Mayarani Devi, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Suranjoy, Medical Officer, and Mr. Kiran, Program Head, AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy), with active support from the UPHC staff.

Mr. Bidyananda Laishram began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation and highlighting its mission. The discussion covered key topics, including the differences between living and deceased donors, organ donation during life and after death, brain death and its declaration, cornea and kidney transplantation, and an overview of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994. Participants were also guided on practical steps to support organ donation and common myths versus facts were clarified.

He emphasized the urgent need for organ donation in India and encouraged participants to initiate meaningful conversations about the topic with their families.

To reinforce learning, informational pamphlets on organ donation were distributed to all participants. Nearly 15 participants attended the session and expressed that it enhanced their understanding and motivated them to contribute to the organ donation movement.
