On August 15, 2025, as part of Independence Day celebrations, the Sanghati Club of Sankar Chowmuhani, Ramnagar, Agartala, West Tripura, organized a community health camp at its premises. MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, along with the Eye Counsellor from Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) Hospital, was invited to participate in the program.

The camp combined voluntary blood donation with awareness and pledge facilitation for eye (corneal) and whole-body donations, aligning with MOHAN Foundation’s mission of fostering a culture of life-saving and life-enhancing donations. The objectives of the program were to:

• Encourage safe, voluntary blood donation to support local blood banks and hospitals

• Build awareness about eye (cornea) donation, including the importance of pledging and next-of-kin consent

• Inform the community about whole-body (anatomical) donation for medical education and research

• Provide on-site counselling and facilitate pledge registrations for eye and body donation

• Strengthen collaborations with local clubs, healthcare providers, and civil society groups in West Tripura

MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mr. Vincent Debbarma (Project Lead, Tripura) and Ms. Nipa Modak (Program Executive, Tripura).

The program commenced at 9:00 AM in the Sanghati Club hall. MOHAN Foundation set up an information desk and help counter, where people were educated on the need and importance of organ donation. Detailed guidance was provided on the processes for eye (corneal) and whole-body donation. Participants also received fliers on organ donation.

By the end of the program, which concluded around 4:30 PM, 47 individuals were counselled on organ donation through one-on-one and group interactions, and 83 participants received fliers.
