International Organ Donation Day was commemorated on August 14, 2025 at Pondicherry Institute of Medical Science Nursing College, Puducherry. An awareness session was organized for the staff and all the representatives of student’s social club, such as

1. Student Nurses Association (SNA)
2. National Service Scheme (NSS)
3. Red Ribbon Club (RRC)
4. National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The session commenced with Dr Sujatha, Vice Principal & HOD Peadiatric Nursing, introducing the audience. A short video on Netra Daan was played showcasing the importance of corneal donation. Mr. Ganesh C, Senior Project Executive spoke about MOHAN Foundation and its activities, and spoke about the concept of organ donation, brain death and types of donations. Ms Sangeetha, spoke about corneal donation, the gift of sight, precaution to be taken for corneal donation.

Mr Ganesh then continued about time factor, how to register as recipient and how to find a hospital with transplantation license, myths and facts and how to safeguard from scams. For better understanding video on “Understanding Brain Death” was streamed and for better understanding. He then exposed them to the opportunity of becoming a Transplant Coordinator and courses offered by MOHAN Foundation.

56 students and staff participated, MOHAN Foundation extends its warm gratitude towards PIMS Management for the opportunity and Dr Sujatha for the support and hospitality.
