A seminar on Organ/Tissue Donation awareness was conducted on July 21, 2025, 12:00pm at the Carmel Of St Joseph school auditorium by Ms. Niya Viji Puthusseri and Mr. Johaan Paulose who are Organ Donation Ambassadors for the MOHAN Foundation. Around 130 students of the 10th grade including some teachers attended the seminar which lasted 40 minutes. It aimed to educate the students the importance of organ/tissue donation.

The objective of the seminar was to educate the students on the topic of organ/tissue donation,pledging for donation, how to spread awareness, volunteering, etc. The two main speakers Ms Niya Viji Puthusseri and Mr Johaan Paulose, organ donation ambassadors from the MOHAN foundation conducted an interactive seminar which included examples, real life tips, myths and facts, etc. A short animated video was also shown after the first ppt which explained how Organ/tissue donation and Brain Stem death actually occurs. Later Ms Niya also spoke about Mumbai’s youngest organ donor and his life story inspiring the students. The students later got all their doubts cleared during the Q&A session.

The seminar was both informative and engaging leaving a strong impact on the students. The seminar not only raised awareness but also helped the students understand how they could help towards the noble cause of Organ/tissue donation. The teachers and principal appreciated the initiative taken by the MOHAN foundation. Overall, the session was well received and left a good impression on everybody.
