Organ health and donation talk at St. Joseph's Matriculation School, Poonamallee

On July 16, 2025 a health awareness program was organized at St. Joseph's Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Poonamallee, Chennai. This session was conducted by Miss. Mridhula, an intern from IIHMR, Bangalore and Ms. Sangeetha K, Project Executive MOHAN Foundation.  The main objective of the program was to educate students what are the  functions of organs, causes of illness, symptoms and how to take care of health and importance of health. 

Ms. Mridhula started a session through  a puzzle game for interaction purposes and spoke about how to lead a healthy life. This lead to a good discussion with students. A green ribbon is given to students as a gesture of support for Organ Donation. Mridula also spoke of the  importance of organ donation to give a second chance to patients with organ failure. 

Ms. Sangeetha spoke about corneal blindness and the importance of cornea donation. She also shared tips on how to take care of our eyes, including simple eye exercises to improve eyesight. Additionally, she discussed ways to avoid eye strain while using computers or mobile phones, and highlighted the importance of a balanced diet rich in Vitamin A to maintain healthy vision.

 A total of 40 students and 2 teaching staff members participated in the program. MOHAN Foundation  thanks to St.Joseph's Matriculation Higher Secondary School for this opportunity.
