On July 2, 2025, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, Organ Donation Ambassador from MOHAN Foundation, conducted an awareness talk on organ donation for the students and teachers of ISEAF’s Keerti Vidyalaya Technical Institute, Siolim, Goa.

The institute offers one-year courses in various fields, including Beautician and Hairdressing, Fashion Designing and Tailoring, Home Nursing, Computer Operations, Programming Assistance, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Washing Machine Mechanics, and Automobile Mechanics.

Through a PowerPoint presentation, Mr. Pereira covered key aspects of organ and tissue donation, including:

• Organs and tissues that can be donated in cases of circulatory and brain stem death

• The medical definition of brain stem death and its implications

• The differences between coma and brain stem death

• The process of pledging to become an organ donor

The session featured informative videos introducing MOHAN Foundation, explaining brain death, and sharing the testimony of Ms. Shreya Siddanagowder.

To enhance understanding, Mr. Pereira distributed flyers containing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and emphasized the importance of informing family members about one’s decision to donate organs, as family consent is a crucial part of the donation process.

The session, attended by around 40 participants, was well-received and helped raise awareness and encourage positive discussions on organ donation within the community.

Mr. Pereira concluded by thanking Principal Mr. Adrin Fernandes for facilitating the session and supporting the cause of organ donation.
