On June 3, 2025, a significant organ donation awareness program was successfully conducted by Mr. Venkatesh Kattela, Project Manager, benefiting both the staff of ICAR-CRIDA and municipal workers in Yacharam.

The first session was held at the ICAR-CRIDA (Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture) branch in Gungal. ICAR-CRIDA's mission is to advance agricultural productivity in dryland and rainfed regions through research, resource conservation technologies, and the study of crop resilience under moisture stress. To minimize disruption to their work, this session for the ICAR-CRIDA staff was scheduled during evening hours. While initial participation was hesitant, engagement grew as the comprehensive presentation unfolded. Key topics covered included the definition and types of organ donation, the distinction between brain death and cardiac arrest, the importance of a donor card, the consent process, prevalent myths and misconceptions, and the critical need for organ donation. Supervisor Srikanth Garu's visual display on organ donation was particularly impactful, resonating well with the audience. This session yielded substantial results, with over 80 attendees and a remarkable 80 individuals pledging to donate their organs.

Subsequently, a separate and equally impactful session was conducted for Yacharam municipal workers. It's important to note that municipal workers are indispensable for the smooth functioning and well-being of our cities, performing vital tasks that directly enhance residents' quality of life through maintaining clean streets, efficient infrastructure, and safe environments. Their enthusiastic participation in this awareness program underscores their commitment to civic well-being beyond their professional responsibilities. Both sessions consistently delivered the same comprehensive content, effectively motivating their respective audiences. The Yacharam municipal workers also demonstrated strong support by enthusiastically pledging to donate their organs, underscoring the broad societal reach and success of this critical public awareness initiative.
