MOHAN Foundation Participates in Organ Donation Awareness Campaign with ROTTO SOTTO and Indian Army, Mumbai |
On April 6, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, Mumbai, actively participated in a large-scale organ donation awareness campaign organized by ROTTO SOTTO, Mumbai, in collaboration with the Indian Army. The campaign aimed to educate the public about the importance of organ donation and to encourage individuals to pledge their organs for a noble cause. The day began with a door-to-door awareness drive in the Army quarters, where volunteers from MOHAN Foundation engaged with residents, distributed informative pamphlets, and answered queries related to organ donation. The response from the families was positive and encouraging, with many expressing interest in learning more about the cause. Following the residential outreach, the team set up an awareness stall near the Army canteen. This space served as a vital information point for army personnel and their families, many of whom stopped by to understand the procedures, legalities, and impact of organ donation. Educational materials, pledge forms, and donor cards were made available, and the volunteers provided one-on-one guidance to interested individuals. In the afternoon, the campaign extended to a public outreach activity at the iconic Gateway of India, a bustling tourist destination in Mumbai. Here, the team interacted with visitors from different walks of life, spreading awareness through conversations, banners, and distribution of pledge forms. The crowd was receptive, and several people pledged their organs on the spot, inspired by the team’s passion and dedication. By the end of the campaign, more than 21097 people across the country had pledged to donate their organs — a heartening outcome that reflects growing awareness and willingness among citizens to contribute to saving lives. MOHAN Foundation, Mumbai, is grateful to ROTTO SOTTO, Mumbai, and the Indian Army for the opportunity to be a part of this impactful initiative. It was an enriching experience for the entire team and further strengthened our resolve to continue advocating for organ donation across communities. |
