Organ Donation Awareness Talk at Nerul Fire Station – Fire Service Week 2025

On the occasion of Fire Service Week 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an Organ Donation Awareness Talk on April 19,  2025 at the Fire Station in Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Prarthana, Public Education Counselor at MOHAN Foundation, and was attended by 14 staff members of the fire station. The talk aimed to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation, explain the difference between brain death and cardiac death, and encourage participants to consider pledging to become organ donors.

The session was highly interactive and informative, with participants actively engaging in the discussion. Some insightful questions raised by the attendees included:

  • "Can eyes be donated after cataract surgery?"
  • "How does donation happen in a Medico-Legal Case (MLC)?

Ms. Prarthana also shared the MOHAN Foundation’s organ donation helpline number to assist participants with any future queries or guidance.

The session was well-received by the firefighting staff and played a vital role in enhancing their understanding of the life-saving impact of organ donation—especially among frontline emergency responders who are already committed to saving lives.

We sincerely thank Mr. Vikas Kohli, In-charge of the Nerul Fire Station, for his support and for inviting us to conduct this meaningful session.
