Kidney tansplant racket accused reamnded to coustody?

  • A 28 year-old-man, who is prime accused in a kidney transplant racket,was remanded to two days police custody. Metropolitan Magistrate (MM)of Patiala House court remanded a resident of BiharSanjay Singh alias Sanjay Bihari, to two days police custody for further interrogation and intensive investigation.
    According to the police,Sanjay in connivance with the other two co-accused Suraj and Mukesh have been running the kidney transplant racket since 2004.Pursuing a complainant from the victim Kishore Kumar e that he had come to Delhi for treatment in June 2004, after which he went back to his native place in Bihar.

    After two months, he again complained of pain in his body and on being checked by a doctor in Bihar, it was found that his kidney had been removed.The police arrested Mukesh, Sanajy Kumar and Rakesh from Delhi in November 2004, after the case was registered .They had todl police that they were operating the racket under the supervision of Sanjay Singh.

    Sanjay was arrested under sections 420 (Cheating), 468 (Forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (Using a forged document as genuine) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 18, 19 and 20 of Human Organ Transplantation Act.
