Updated on Friday, April 2, 2010
  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Coimbatore to set up a stall from 2nd to 4th April ’10 for a Tech function termed “ANOKHA 2010”. ANOKHA - the first Tech function for Amrita University, which was organized completely based on academics. The Tech Function was inaugurated by Mr.T.K.A.Nair, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, Govt. of India.

The University decided to place an impact stall and chose MOHAN Foundation to create awareness on organ donation. The university often conducts blood donation camps. This shows that they completely support organ donation. We also learnt that the computer science department had a presentation on organ donation earlier and many of the students had pledged their organs for donation.

At our organ donation stall videos were screened with information on what organs can be donated after brain death and after natural death. Many students approached us, where one to one, one to group education on organ donation happened. Totally 140 students picked up the donor card and five students  wanted to volunteer for MOHAN foundation to create awareness about this noble cause, “ORGAN DONATION”.
