One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Programme, Pune

We are happy to announce that a “One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Programme” under the aegis of National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and  Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (ROTTO) State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) Mumbai, is being organised by MOHAN Foundation and ZTCC Pune from 19th to 23rd February 2018 at ISCCM Hall (Pune Chapter), off Karve Road, Pune, Maharashtra. The training programme is supported by the Tata Trusts.

The success of organ donation and transplantation depends upon good counselling and coordination by transplant coordinators. The Transplantation of Human Organs (Amendment) Act, 2011, has made Transplant Coordinator nomination mandatory before a hospital is registered as a Transplant Centre. This means there is a huge requirement of Transplant Coordinators in close to 400 Transplant centres in the country.

In order to meet the growing demand for Transplant Coordinators, MOHAN Foundation has embarked upon training programmes to suit the needs of these health care professionals. We have conducted 50 training programmes in the country and trained 1723 transplant coordinators over the past eight years (December 2009 – November 2017).
