  MOHAN Foundation was invited for an awareness program on Organ Donation to Maharani Vidyawati Devi I.T.C for Women, Royapettah on 09.06.2017. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Mr. Siva Shankar represented MOHAN Foundation. The program was for the 18 trainees learning tailoring. The session began with distribution of green ribbons, as a symbol of I Support Organ Donation

  Mr. Siva Shankar began the session with a question. “What is Organ Donation in their perspective?” Many answers were given, the participants were very interactive. He further started explaining about the following details:

  1. Organs that can be donated
  2. When organs can be donated
  3. What is the difference between Coma and Brain Death?
  4. Government allocation of organs

  The session ended with a Q & A, the question raised were

  1. Organs can be donated after Heart Attack?

  The answers were given properly by Mr. Siva Shankar. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde further explained about the stages of kidney failure and the need to keep ourselves healthy.   16 trainees picked a donor card. We thank the principal of the institute for providing time for the talk.
