Training on Role of Investigating officers in Organ Donation at Avadi Police Recruitment School

  • On 20th August 2015 MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct a talk on Role of Investigating Officer in Brain Death and Organ Donation. The training was attended by Inspectors and Sub Inspectors of police station within Chennai under the Avadi Police Recruitment School (PRS) in the campus of Police Training College, Ashok Nagar.  The aim of the programme was to make them understand the concept of organ donation and their role in the case of multi organ donation.

    Ms. Sunitha A.T.  Transplant Coordinator delivered a talk that focussed on basics of organ donation, brain death, myths related to donation, protocol for MLC organ donation case  and THO Act. A short film on brain death and organ donation was also shown to the participants. There was a discussion on process of inquest.

    Totally 35 police officials participated in the programme and supported the cause by pledging the donor card the participants expressed that the poster for very useful to understand their role in MLC organ donation case they also appreciatated MOHAN Foundation for the continues work to promote Deceased Organ Donation programme in India.

    At the end of the session Ms.Sunitha thanked the Avadi Police Recruitment School (PRS) Police Training School for their support and cooperation for the continuous  sessions.
