Times of India and MOHAN Foundation join hands for a school campaign on Organ Donation

  • On August 12, 2014, an awareness session on organ donation was held at Shri Natesan Vidyasala Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mudichur in partnership with Times of India. The session was conducted by MOHAN Foundation (Chennai) as a part of the Times India campaign on organ donation.

     

    Mrs. Gayathri Ramachandra, Principal Shri Natesan Vidyasala Matriculation Higher Secondary School introduced MOHAN Foundation and about the campaign organised by the times of India on organ donation. She expressed he thanks and support to Times of India for organizing the campaign and choosing their school to spread the message about Organ donation. She also appreciated MOHAN Foundation for their excellent work in sensitizing the different stake holders on importance of organ donation.

     

    Ms. Sunitha A T,  Transplant Coordinator covered following topic like:

    1. Need for organ donation
    2. Concept of organ donation
    3. Natural Death and Brain Death
    4. Brain death and coma
    5. Transplantation of Human Organ Act 1994
    6. Donor Stories
    7. Myths on organ donation.

     

    The participation level of the students was very high and they came up with very impressive responses to the questions asked. Vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Gayathri Ramachandra, Principal of the school. More than 275 students from 11th to 12th standard and 10 teachers participated in the programme.
