Staff of blind school invite MOHAN Foundation to speak on organ donation

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Narendra Taksande, Principal of Blind Relief association school, Rahate colony, Nagpur,  to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for teaching and non teaching staff, on 18 January 2017.

    Ms. Kanchan Shewde transplant coordinator of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur center, delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In her talk she explained the following points:-

    • What is Organ Donation and the Law
    • Who can donate organs
    • Types of organ donation
    • Brain Death Natural Death and Coma
    • Myths related to Organ donation
    • Deceased donation cases in Nagpur
    • Kidney transplant hospitals in Nagpur
    • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website

    It was a very interactive session. 20 teaching and non teaching staff were present at the talk. 4 of them signed consent form and took donor card.

     

     Teaching and Non teaching staff asked the following questions:-

    1) If person is blind then can they donate cornea?

    2)  What is the process of Body donation?

    3) What is the process of skin donation?
