  • MOHAN Foundation was taken as an example to explain social entrepreneurship to students of MA Public Administration of Anna Adarsh College for Women.  The Department Head Dr. K. Usha invited Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Q & A Officer to give a talk on the topic on 11 Jan 2018. About 40 students of 1st and 2nd year MA and 5 staff members attended the talk.  Everyone was given a green ribbon and an information brochure on organ donation.

Dr. Hemal started by explaining the concepts of organ donation, importance of donor card and the family conversation.

She then highlighted social entrepreneurs who have brought a change in society and the special criteria of their working systems.  She gave a short history of MOHAN Foundation, the challenges and how they are being tackled. She spoke of the use of IT to improve services provided by MOHAN Foundation.  At the end Dr. Hemal spoke of how students can help to take Organ Donation to the public.

During the discussion students asked – how to get a donor card, what is organ allocation, what are the partnerships with the Government and about the locations of MOHAN Foundation.

MOHAN Foundation thanks Dr. K. Usha for inviting us and giving an opportunity to meet students.
