MOHAN FOUNDATION conducted an Organ Donation Awearness program in Selaiyur Government Higher Secondary School , Tambaram Chennai on 31st August 2016. The session was attended by 100 students of 11thstandard and 6 teachers.
Mr. Periyanayagam and Ms. Ann Alex of MOHAN FOUNDATION conduct the program which was organised by Ms. Priya student of the social work department, Hindustan college. She is an intern at MOHAN Foundation.
The program started with the welcome speech of Head Master and Assistant tutor. They welcomed the MOHAN FOUNDATION team and explained the need of organ donation to the students.
Mr. Periyanayagam spoke to about the activities and history of MOHAN FOUNDATION. He then explained the why, what, when and how of organ donation. He emphasised the different between cardic death and brain death, the organs which can donated after cardic death and brain death, the legal and ethical aspects of organ donation and the process of pledging to organs. The students were very attentive, but shy to ask questions.
