Saket Hospital, Jaipur conducts organ donation awareness for its staff

  • On May 21, 2015, MOHAN Foundation- Jaipur Citizens Forum (MFJCF) conducted an awareness session on organ donation at Saket Hospital, Jaipur. This hospital in is known for Medicine, Pediatrics, Ortho, ENT, Dental, Neurology, General and Gynecology specialization.  It is a 150 bedded and well equipped hospital which serves the general public.  

     

    Mr Ashok Goyal, Volunteer, MFJCF began with a small introduction of MFJCF to all attendees. Mr Goyal explained to them why we need awareness to this subject.

     

    Mr. Utpal Rajoria, Project Manager explained the concepts of organ donation and transplantation primarily focusing on the types of donations, how to diagnose brain death, tissue donation, the Transplant Law of India and statistics on the said subject. A short film on brain death was shown. The session was conducted in an interactive manner where the participants chipped in with their views on recent coverage of organ donation stories in the media and also with unhesitant inquiries throughout.

     

    The pictures and stories of few donors  from Rajasthan were also shown. This motivated the participant  to support the cause. Resident doctors and nursing staff of Saket Hospital filled the pledge form. More than 25 participants attended the session and 11 donor cards were picked up.
