Owing to the organ donation week, MOHAN Foundation in collaboration with SBI Villupuram conducted a session on organ donation to its customers and employees on 12th August 2016. SBI bank has always helped in creating awareness programs in various SBI branches in association with MOHAN Foundation. SBI RBO-5 Villupuram initiated the interest in conducting an organ awareness program in the district of Villupuram and suburbs. The Program was divided into two sessions where the first session was conducted for the customers of the bank and the other noon session was conducted for the bank managers and staff of the branch.
The first session which was conducted for bank customers, around 20 customers participated in the event. Mr. Ruban Victor, Program Manager, MOHAN Foundation Puducherry conducted the session. He explained the concepts of organ donation – how it started, the importance of THO act was explained, the importance of Donor card and how deceased organ donation can help to eradicate kidney racket. He urged all the customers to take part in the organ donation drive in Villupuram.
The second session was attended by the staff of SBI branch Villupuram, headed by Mr. Jaychandran AGM Villupuram. The session began with the video on organ donation, followed by a presentation on organ donation. Mr. Ruban explained the difference between cardiac death and brain death, and also on the organs which can be donated. The importance of donor card and how it would help people to carry on their wish was explained. All the employees took a donor card. The SBI has taken the special initiative to support all the organs donation programs in Villupuram.
