Regional Transport Office supports Organ Donation

• MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Regional Transport Office, Anna Nagar for conducting an awareness program on Organ Donation on 7^th September 2018. The target audience was the public who come to get their Learner’s License Registration and Driving License. Mr. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive conducted the session where around 25 people were in attendance.

  Before the start of the session green ribbons and brochures were distributed to the people in order to pass on some basic information about organ donation. Siva Shankar began the session by explaining the need for organ donation and the reason why organ donation was being discussed at a RTO. He explained the following in detail:

  • Organs and their functions
  • Age criteria for donation
  • Donation in case of cardiac death and brain death
  • Time limit for the organs to be transplanted
  • Myths on organ donation
  • Laws that govern organ donation in India
  • Donor Cards and Helpline Number

  The session which began at 11AM lasted for about 30 minutes. MOHAN Foundation thanks RTO, Anna Nagar for supporting this noble cause.
