Regional Transport Office supports Organ Donation

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited by Regional Transport Office at Anna Nagar, Chennai for an awareness session on organ donation. This was meant for the people who visit the office to get their Learners Licence Registration and Driving Licence. It was conducted on 31st July 2018 at 11 AM in the waiting hall by Mr. T. S. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive MOHAN Foundation. The session went on for 30 minutes and was attended by 25 people.  

    Mr. Siva Shankar started the session with information on the enormity of the problem organ failure patients face. He explained which organs that can be donated; Brain Death and its causes; Transplant Law; and the process of registration as a donor as well as process of registration as a patient.  The statistics of accidents was stressed by him so that everyone will take care of themselves by wearing helmets and seat belts while driving motor bikes and cars.

    The good news is that The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India has included the declaration of Organ Donation in the Learners Licence Registration form.
