Regional Transport Office, Nagpur hosts a talk on organ donation on August 19, 2016

• On 19 August 2016, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur to conduct an awareness session on organ donation.  This was to speak to the drivers who apply for vehicles registration and driving license.

  Ms. Kanchan Shewde delivered a talk on organ donation. She explained the following points:-

  • What is Organ Donation?
  • Who can donate organs?
  • Which organs can be donated during live?

  • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation.
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.
  • Kidney transplant hospitals in Nagpur.

  Approximately 45 drivers were presented during the talk. 4 drivers took the donor card.

  The Drivers asked the following questions:-

  What is the priority list for organ donation?

  What is the role of ZTCC in Organ Donation?
