On April 5th, 2015, Team Navjeevan-MFJCF conducted an awareness session on organ donation at JMA Hall, SMS hospital. The Awareness programme was attended by members and office bearers of Rajasthan Resident Doctors Association and also members of the Student Union. Dr. Rajvendra Choudhary, President of RRDA coordinated the programme.
Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director , MOHAN Foundation took the session and explained the concepts of organ donation and transplantation primarily focusing on the need for Organ Donation, challenges within, Brain Death, types of donation, tissue donation, the Transplant Law of India and statistics on the said subject. The session was conducted in an interactive manner where the participants chipped in with their views on recent coverage of organ donation stories in the media in Rajasthan.
25 participants attended the session. They committed themselves to spreading awareness for the cause across the medical community.
