Presentation by Angels of Change volunteers Aastha and Harshit at Tikona Park, Indirapuram, New Delhi

  • On December 15, 2015 Ms. Aastha Dogra and Mr. Harshit jointly conducted an awareness session on organ donation for their college mates at Tikona Park, New Delhi.

     

    Having undergone training as "Angels of change Volunteer", the last phase requires them to organize and conduct a public awareness session independently before being presented with the "Angel of Change Volunteer "certificate.

     

    Harshit started off by explaining what is organ donation and brain dead following which Aastha further clarified the concept of brain dead. She also spoke about the THOTA Act and cited the figures of organ donation in the country and stressed on the importance of awareness to ensure increase in the figures of organ donation throughout the country. She also clarified myths and facts pertaining to organ donation. The volunteers also showed the film on brain death.

     

    Sonam and Marina filled out gaps whenever required and also spoke about eye donation and urged everyone to think about it. They also clarified the questions asked by the participants.

     

    A total of 15 students attended the session and 11 donor cards were picked up.
