Outpatients get information on organ donation at Super Specialty Hospital Nagpur

  • On 29th November 2016, Super Specialty Hospital Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients. Dr. Shrigiriwar arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.

     

    Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde Transplant coordinators of MOHAN Foundation managed the stall. They met the patients and their families one to one and explained about organ donation.

     

    Information given to outpatients:

    Types of deaths

    Who can donate organs

    Organ and tissue donation after Brain Death, Natural Death & by a living person

    What is a waiting list for an organ failure patient

    Value of a donor card

    Use helpline number & MOHAN Foundation website for information

    MOHAN Foundation activities

     

    They interacted with 25 patients. After understanding about organ donation, 10 people took consent form & 4 patients signed consent form and took donor card, other will sign consent form after discussing with their family.

     

    Question asked by participants:-

    1) What is difference between coma and brain death?

    2) What is pancreas where is it in our body?

    3) In Nagpur where is liver transplant licensed hospital?
