  On 18 November 2016, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur to speak to drivers about organ donation.

  Mr.Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ Donation for drivers who apply for vehicles registration and driving license and elaborated on the following points:

  • What is Organ Donation and the Law
  • Who can donate organs

  • Types of organ donation
  • Difference between Brain Death,  Natural Death and Coma
  • Deceased donation cases in Nagpur
  • Kidney transplant hospitals in Nagpur
  • Myths related to Organ donation
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website

   

  It was a very interactive session. Approximately 23 drivers were present.

  3 drivers signed consent form and took donor card.

   

  The Drivers asked the following questions:-

  What symptoms create in our body if pancreas fail?

  Is pancreas transplant done in Mumbai?
