Organ donation awareness for drivers at Regional Transport Office

  Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Office, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in his training hall on 8th September 2017. This program is for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.

  Mr.Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk, he explained for following points:-

   

  • What is Organ Donation and Who can donate
  • Type of organ donation.
  • Brain Death Natural Death and Coma.
  • Myths related to Organ donation.
  • Deceased donation case in Nagpur.
  • Kidney transplant hospital in Nagpur.
  • The Law,  Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

   

  It was a very interactive session. 19 drivers were present at the talk. 4 drivers signed the consent form and took donor cards.

  The drivers asked the following questions:-

  • Who is the director of MOHAN Foundation in Chennai?
  • What are the benefits to MOHAN Foundation if organs are donated?
