  MOHAN Foundation was invited by   Computer Science Corporation – PAYPAL to give an awareness talk for their employees in their office at Sholinganallur. This was their first CSR programme. Ms. Kavitha S. Marketing Coordinator represented MOHAN Foundation.

   

  The programme started at 3.30pm in the cafeteria with a welcome address given by Ms. Sangeetha.  Following that Ms.Kavitha, delivered a talk on Organ Donation.  In her talk she explained the following:

   

  • Importance and need of organ donation
  • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
  • Organs and tissues  that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
  • Eye donation
  • Preservation time of organs
  • Importance of Donor card, helpline number and website
  • TNOS website and Transplant Registry

   

  The participants raised queries about organ sharing and allocation, contraindications in donating organs and tissues, who should be contacted in case of emergency, How Authentic this organ sharing, why we have to register with your organization since you’re a non-governmental organization. Nearly 25 of them attended the session. At the end of the session priceless gift brochures were distributed and 15 employees supported this noble cause by picking up the donor cards.
