Organ Donation Awareness as a part of Lecturer Training at Nagpur University

  • On November 26, 2014, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for the refresher course candidates at the Academic Staff College. Organized by Dr. Rubeena Ansari, she is the lecturer of Kamthi Social Work College. Addressed lecturers were from various colleges under Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

     

    The session was conducted by Dr. Ravi Wankhede in the seminar hall. In the talk Dr.Wankhede explained about:

    • Need for organ donation & Organ donation rate in India.
      • Type of donation.
      •  Like live donation & donation after death.
      • Concept of brain death.
      •  Function of ZTCC Nagpur & Important of THO act.
      •  Important of doctors for organ donation.
      •  MOHAN Foundation activities & progress of Chennai city in organ donation.
      •  Priority of organ & myths surrounding organ donation.

     

     

    The participants showed keenness for the subject and provided satisfactory responses for the questions raised by the speaker.

    1)    What is time duration for organ transplant in each organ?

    2)    What processes have to take for family convince?

    3)    How a brain death body be maintained?

     

     

    Total 120 participants were presented in that talk and 12 picked Donor. After question discussion Dr. Rubeena Ansari gave vote of thanks to Dr. Ravi Wankhede & session was over.
