Organ Donation Awareness Talk at Regional Transport Office

  Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation. This was for the benefit of the drivers who apply for vehicles registration and driving license. The session was conducted on 13^th May 2016 at the RTO, Giripet

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points:-

  • Importance and need of Organ donation.
  • Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death.
  • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation.
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

  • What is live organ donation & it is legal?
  • What is clinical testing in brain death?
  • Which hospitals conduct kidney transplant in Nagpur?

   

  It was a very interactive session. Approximately 25 drivers were presented during the talk. 3 drivers took the donor card.

  The Participants asked the following questions:-

  What is the time duration for eye donation?

  What is the time duration of body donation?
