National level workshop on transplant nursing

  • A National workshop on Transplant Nursing was held on 28th February 2014 at BGS Global Hospital. This conference was organized to empower participants in the area of Transplant Nursing, to improve the knowledge and skills  of nurses and to promote the pre and post transplant outcomes.

     

    Dr. Venkatramana, CEO, BGS Global Hospital, Bengaluru was the chief guest of the programme.       Dr. Sonal  Asthana, Dr.Rajiv , Dr.Sachin, Dr.Mala from BGS Global team were present for the programme and delivered lectures on different topics. The major topics covered were Milestones of liver transplant, Clinical perspective of liver transplant, Quality of life issues after liver transplant, Bone marrow transplantation, Pursuit of nursing care in excellence in Transplantation.

     

    MOHAN Foundation was invited for the programme. Ms.Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director, MOHAN Foundation delivered a lecture on Organ Donation - Indian Perspective and Organ Donor stories. She highlighted the importance of identifying potential donors and the role of nurses in taking care of the patient and the family.
