On 29th October 2014, MOHAN Foundation Chandigarh conducted an awareness session for the school students of Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector-21, Chandigarh under the “Student Awareness Campaign” which started on, to cover all the students of government schools in Chandigarh. The Principal and vice Principal of the School helped us a lot in arraigning the session and they supports the cause of organ donation. Today was the second day of the session.
Around 100 students participated in the program and they were from the commerce stream of 12th standard and were given a presentation on the phenomenon of Brain Death and the process of organ donation through a presentation and the videos by the Program Coordinator Nilakshi. The myths and misconception associated with organ donation were also discussed and got cleared. The Students asked very interesting question regarding tissue and organ donation. The donor cards were shown to them.
Around 25 donor cards were taken by the students as they liked the cause and want to ask their parents and friends to pledge their organs.
