MOHAN Foundation sets an Information Desk on Organ Donation on Gurupurab Day

  • Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab falls on 4th November is one of the most revered day for the Sikh community.  The historic day is celebrated is with great fervour and collective spirit and effort, asserting the message of morality, hard work and truth inherent in the preaching's of Guru Nanak. In most Gurudwara’s there is some form of social work highlighted on this day.

    MOHAN Foundation put up an information desk for Organ Donation Awareness at the Sri Guru Nanak Satsangh in T Nagar, Chennai on 4th November 2017.  Mrs. Saroj Dhawan and Ms. Suganya R set the desk to raise awareness about the cause.  Information on what, who and when organ can be donated was explained. The underlying message was for people to come forward to save lives. The pamphlets which we are distributed as part of awareness drive helped to remove many myths from the minds of people regarding organ donation.

    Many people visited our stall. 12 people agreed to pledge their organs at Gurudwara, Chennai. It is a matter of relief and joy that people understand the importance of donating organs after death.
